Duo Mignarda issues "In Dulci Jubilo: Ancient Music for Christmastide"
Released in 2025 on Prima Classic, In dulci jubilo is Mignarda’s second Christmas album, complementing Christe Redemptor. While Christe Redemptor focuses on 15th- and 16th-century polyphonic motets, In dulci jubilo offers a more intimate selection of beloved historical hymns and carols.
Arranged directly from original sources for the evocative pairing of solo voice and lute, the program includes traditional carols from Germany, the British Isles, and France. Rooted in historical practice — where such arrangements were central to 16th-century domestic music — Mignarda brings these timeless works to life with sensitivity, authenticity, and stylistic variety.
The album’s title, In dulci jubilo (“In Sweet Rejoicing”), captures the spirit of this joyful collection — an intimate celebration of Christmas music that resonates not only for the holiday season but throughout the year.
