The Carols and Christmas Music of Howard Cable
Howard Cable (b. 1920) was a Canadian composer, arranger, conductor,
and musical director whose career took him into the realms of television and
radio. His most famous association was with the super brass band Canadian
Brass.
The Wikipedia entry on Cable contains his biography so we won’t recycle it here. One can also see a good deal of information on the Howard Cable blog.
Nevertheless, we’ll get into some of the Christmas music we have found on YouTube. As already hinted in the above-mentioned of Canadian Brass, a lot of Cable's work is for brass ensembles, but anyone who has a Canadian Brass Christmas album will find choral additions to brass arraignments.
